Birth Doula – Doulas have been shown to significantly decrease the likelihood of c-sections, the use of pain medication, and the rates of “augmentation” with pitocin. Equally important, doulas have been shown to increase a woman’s self-reported satisfaction with her birth. Birth doula services include three prenatal appointments, tailored to your needs and wants. Prenatal sessions typically include discussions on topics such as birth preferences, your support system, breastfeeding, baby-wearing and baby care, and preparation for your post partum period. Support during your labour and birth begins whenever you ask me to join you, and I stay until you have birthed and settled in with your baby. After the baby’s birth, I will come to you for a postpartum visit. Postpartum visits are tailored to your needs, but often include breastfeeding support, light housekeeping, baby care support and links to community resources. A meal is always provided for you and your family at a postpartum visit. Birth doula clients have full access to Rising Tide’s lending library, phone and email support throughout the childbearing cycle, and 24 hour on-call service from 37-42 weeks.

The fee for birth doula services is 800$ for the course of care.

Post Partum Doula – Post partum doula services include support in areas such as breastfeeding, baby care and baby-wearing, as well as links to community resources. A post partum doula can offer help with light housekeeping, adjustment for older sibling(s), and will bring along a meal for your family. Different families have different needs, but the goal is to leave you feeling cared for, rested, and a little more empowered as you journey through motherhood. Post partum doula clients have full access to Rising Tide’s lending library.

The fee for post partum doula services is 60$ for a two-hour visit, or 220$ for a series of four, two-hour visits (8 hours total).
